Annual Meeting of the Austrian Emergency Association of Museums and Libraries 2025

On 25 March 2025, the annual meeting of the Austrian Emergency Association of Museums and Libraries took place at the Museum der Moderne Salzburg.

Blue Shield Austria was represented by the Deputy Secretary General, who contributed alongside colleagues from the Federal Monuments Authority and the National Defence Academy. The meeting included a look back at the anniversary year of the 1954 Hague Convention, insights into the challenges of museum pests in times of climate change, lessons learned from the flood disaster in Lower Austria, as well as the presentation of new projects and opportunities for cooperation.

The discussions highlighted that in times of emergency, coordination among many different actors—from cultural institutions and public authorities to civil society organisations—is crucial, and can only succeed with a strong community.
