Dombauhütte St. Stephan & Blue Shield Austria invite on Heritage Day 2026

As part of "Tag des Denkmals 2026" on Sunday, 27 September 2026, the Dombauhütte St. Stephan and Blue Shield Austria invite visitors to explore the role of 3D documentation in the protection of cultural heritage, including endangered cultural property in conflict zones.

The Dombauhütte St. Stephan has long used documentation as an important basis for the conservation and restoration of the cathedral. In recent years, its work has increasingly included highly precise 3D documentation. This expertise can also contribute to cultural property protection in crisis and conflict situations. In cooperation with the International Association of Cathedral Works, 3D documentation of cultural heritage in Ukraine has already been supported.

Blue Shield is active internationally in the protection of cultural heritage during armed conflicts and natural disasters. The organisation also supports cultural property protection efforts in Ukraine and works closely with UNESCO and local partners.
